This Privacy Policy describes how A. Caltieri Apps collects, uses, processes, and protects users’ personal information (“User”) through the Bike Wear Tracker mobile application (“App”).

1. Data Controller

2. Data Collected via Strava Integration

Bike Wear Tracker offers the ability to connect your Strava account. By authorizing this connection, the App collects and stores the following data provided by the Strava API:

  • Profile Data: First name, last name, profile picture URL, basic geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), body weight, follower count, and following count.
  • Gear Data: IDs and identifiers of bicycles saved on Strava to enable synchronization.
  • Activity Data: Distance, elevation gain, moving time, and date of individual recorded activities.
  • Excluded Data: The App does not request, collect, or process sensitive health-related data (e.g., heart rate, power, biometric data).

3. Purpose of Processing

The collected data is used exclusively to provide the core functionalities of the App, specifically:

  • The User’s weight and activity metrics (distance, time, elevation) are used to mathematically calculate the wear and tear of bicycle mechanical components.
  • Strict Ban on Artificial Intelligence Use: No user data obtained from the Strava API (including profile data, activities, and derived metrics) is sent, transferred, or used to feed, train, or query Artificial Intelligence models (LLMs, Machine Learning, or similar).

4. Data Isolation and Sharing

Bike Wear Tracker adopts a strict data isolation policy to ensure User privacy:

  • Strictly Personal Use: Data extracted from Strava and the wear metrics calculated by the App are visible solely and exclusively to the account-owning User.
  • No Social Features: The App does not have public feeds, leaderboards, or internal sharing features that allow other users to view someone else’s information.
  • No Data Sale or Transfer: Data is not sold, transferred, or rented to third parties, advertising networks, or data brokers.

5. Third-Party Services

For the technical operation of its infrastructure, the App relies on highly reputable service providers acting as Data Processors:

  • Supabase: For authentication management and database storage (servers located in the EU - Ireland).
  • Upstash: For managing background synchronization queues.
  • Apple App Store Tools: For collecting anonymous analytical data and crash reports, aimed at improving App stability.

6. Data Retention and Deletion (Right to be Forgotten)

The User has total control over their data:

  • Revoking Strava Access (Deauthorization): If the User revokes Bike Wear Tracker’s access via Strava settings, the App will receive an automatic notification (Webhook) and will proceed with the immediate and irreversible deletion from its servers of all access tokens and previously imported activity data for that User.
  • Account Deletion: The User can proactively and permanently delete their Bike Wear Tracker account at any time using the native feature in the App’s settings. This action results in the immediate destruction of all personal and derived data associated with the User.

7. Data Security and Localization

Data is stored on secure servers located in the European Union (Ireland). Communications between the App, servers, and Strava APIs occur exclusively via encrypted protocols (HTTPS).

8. User Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the User has the right to:

  • Access their personal data.
  • Request the rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Request the erasure of data (as described in Section 6).
  • Restrict or object to data processing.

9. Minors

The App does not contain inappropriate material and is intended for a general audience. However, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected a child’s data without consent, please contact us to proceed with its removal.
